The itinerary of “Heading to Northern Vietnam from Hanoi” is an exclusive journey customized to explore deeply culture, history, people, and landscape from the mountainous area to the Gulf of Tonkin. Leaving behind all the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, we discover the natural mountains and local villages of Thai tribe in Mai Chau, then sightsee picturesque limestone mountains and rice paddies in the old capital of Ninh Binh by boat, by bike. The journey’s finale is at Lan Ha Bay, located to the south of Halong Bay which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we stay overnight on a luxury cruise. During the time on the cruise, there are various activities for you to experience such as cave exploration, kayaking, swimming, fishing, or simply relaxing.

7.30 am - 8.00 am: Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before our tour guide and driver pick you up. Then, you will be transferred on a luxury bus to Ninh Binh, 100 km far away from Hanoi’s Old Quarter. If your hotel isn’t located inside Hanoi’s Old Quarter, please inform us in advance to confirm the picking-up point.
10.15 am: Start visiting Hoa Lu which is the ancient capital of Vietnam in the 10th century, you will hear interesting stories from our experienced tour guide about the reasons why the capital was moved to Hanoi in 1010. Then, you will be impressed by history from 2 temples of King Dinh, Kinh Le which are the first 2 dynasties of ancient Vietnam.
11.30 am: After visiting the ancient capital, our bus will take you to Tam Coc for a typical lunch of Vietnamese people with various traditional dishes.
13.00: Having 20 minutes for resting, then you go to Tam Coc Wharf where you will take a small boat with the maximum capacity of 4 people. A local will row you around to discover the natural beauty of Tam Coc-Bich Dong with 3 caves: Hang Ca (the first grotto), Hang Hai (the second grotto), and Hang Ba (the third grotto).
The boat will last for 1.5 hours in total.
15.40: Take your own bicycle, then ride around the peaceful village to explore life in the countryside area. The level of ride absolutely depends on your fitness. You can choose to stay behind the tour guide alternatively or just enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting for other people.
16.30: Come back to the shuttle bus heading to Hanoi.
18.40: The bus drops you at your hotel. Our day trip to Ninh Binh ends memorably.

7.30 am - 7.45 am: Breakfast at hotel, then our tour guide and driver will come to pick you up, then depart to Mai Chau.
9.00 am: After finish halfway, the car stops for a short break in Luong Son, Hoa Binh province.
11.00 am: We will stop at White Cliffs, Thung Khe pass-one of the most beautiful passes in Vietnam. From this point, you can admire the spectacular panorama down to the valleys.
12.00: We will arrive in Mai Chau valley for lunch with traditional food. The vegetarian option is available, so please inform us in advance.
13.00 - 15.30: You have the opportunity to view the local village of Thai people by bicycle. Thai tribe, which is one of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam, is famous for its own culture, customs, festivals. That people live in a stilt house in order to avoid wild animals. Moreover, Thai women are able to make high-quality textile materials with their outstanding weaving skills.
By stopping several local houses, you will see how people make beautiful clothes and accessories.
15.30: Get on the car to come back Hanoi
19.00: Back to your hotel. Enjoy rest of the day in Hanoi.

9.00 am: After breakfast in the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel, then heading to Lan Ha Bay which is located to the south of Halong Bay. Its landscapes are just as beautiful as those of Halong Bay, but feel less crowded and untouched.
Along the way, you can go to the bathroom once our car arrives at the stopover.
12.00: You will reach Got Harbour. You can take a rest inside the waiting room while waiting for the Cruise to complete necessary preparations.
You will be transferred to the cruise by a tender. Welcome on board with hospitable drinks, followed by a brief of itinerary and safety instruction.
13.00: A delicious lunch is served in the dining room while the cruise is sailing to the heart of Lan Ha Bay. Beverages such as cocktails, soft drinks, wines, beers are available at the bar.
14.30 -14.45: After resting, you will visit Dark and Bright Caves by sampan boat (bamboo boat) rowed by local peoples. Following this, it’s time for swimming.
17.00: Return to the cruise to enjoy the best moment of magnificent sunset when the dusk is coming. Don’t miss the happy hour at the bar to cheer with your companions.
19.00: While dinner is served in the dining room or on the sundeck (depending on weather), you can enjoy a special performance of traditional Vietnamese music. Don’t hesitate to try some Vietnamese songs.
Before you’re back to your cabin for resting, you can go to the bar or spa (booking in advance is necessary) for relaxing. In the late evening, you have a chance to join with crews for squid fishing, then taste some dishes made from these squids.

6.00 am: For early risers, you can join a Tai Chi session which would probably help you feel energetic for a new day. The fresh sunrise onboard also is a sort of thing you shouldn’t miss.
7.00 am - 8.15am: Time for breakfast. After that, you can go up to the sundeck for sunbathing under very first sunlight.
10.00 am: The cruise will drop anchor in Tra Bau area where you will visit the fishing village of local people, then try to do kayaking on the lovely emerald water.
Afterward, return to the cruise and enjoy a cooking demonstration delivered by our talented chef. Moreover, you can learn more about the Vietnamese culinary which is often balanced by YIN and YANG.
10.30 am: A buffet lunch will be served while the cruise is going back to its harbor.
11.45 am: Disembark the cruise at the Got Harbor, say goodbye to friendly crews to get on the bus to leave Lan Ha Bay.
14.30 - 15.00: You will be back at the hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Tour ends.
